Girls Inc. Staying Strong Mentoring Program

The benefits of mentoring are well-documented for both Mentors and Mentees and can include stronger self-confidence, better grades, improved relationships with family and peers, and higher engagement in one’s community.

Girls Inc. Staying Strong Mentoring incorporates a number of initiatives that facilitate and guide Mentors to focus on their Mentee’s individual needs.  Healthy lifestyles, self-esteem, art, leadership and anti-violence & anti-bullying are a few of the initiatives incorporated into program activities.

Program Length:
from October to June each year

Registration Open in September 2017

Girls Inc. Operation SMART®

The Girls Inc. Experience empowers girls to succeed.  It is also important that girls are motivated to set and achieve educational and career goals, particularly in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).  Girls deserve supportive, experiential, all-girl environments where they feel invited and encouraged to join the fun of discovering the world around them and where they can prove to themselves that they do like and can be good at STEM.

Program Length:
8 weeks of Sessions running  on Saturdays in the fall of each year

Registration Open in August 2018

Girls At Bat

Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta and Jays Care Foundation.  The program is specially designed to make both playing and coaching feel fun and safe that girls and young women who would normally sit on the side-lines or not even go near the field, have the courage to try. Once on the field, the program weaves fun and challenging baseball drills and skills with vital self-esteem, team-building and personal health activities to ensure that all participants gain far more than baseball skills.

Registration Open in May 2018
