Girls' Empowerment Mini Gala

Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta was thrilled to host its first-ever Girls’ (EM)Power Mini Gala in celebration of the Women of Inspiration Gala and International Women’s Day. The event took place on Friday, March 8th at the Unifor hall for girls ages 9-15.

This inaugural event gave Girls Inc. participants an unforgettable opportunity to dress up and hear from a Keynote speaker. The evening was filled with empowering activities and discussions, alongside a 360 photo booth, dance floor, and an array of fun food and snacks!

As with all Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta programs, registration for the Mini Gala was free. The public registration opened on Monday, February 5th, and was met with enthusiastic response.

The dress code for the night was ‘Dress your Best,’ encouraging attendees to wear whatever made them feel the most confident and comfortable—be it a dress, traditional clothes, or their favorite outfit. We emphasized that there was no need to purchase a new dress for this special occasion.

Reflecting on this milestone, we’re filled with gratitude for the vibrant energy and inspiration shared by all who attended. It was a night to remember, truly embodying the spirit of empowerment that Girls Inc. seeks to foster in all girls.

Moving Forward

With the success of 2024’s Girls’ (EM)Powerment Mini Gala we look forward to this becoming an annual event for our Girls Inc. participants.
