Fort McMurray, Alberta – September 22, 2023 – Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta is thrilled to announce the tremendous success of its 29th Annual Golf Tournament Fore Girls Inc., held on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at the beautiful Miskanaw Golf Club in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

This remarkable event, generously sponsored by Imperial and supported by numerous other dedicated sponsors, raised $21,700 in support of the organization’s mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold in the Wood Buffalo region.

The 29th Annual Golf Tournament Fore Girls Inc. drew a vibrant and enthusiastic crowd of over 90 golfers who came together for a day of friendly competition and a meaningful cause.

This year’s ’emotion’ themed event encouraged our golfers to wear their hearts on their sleeves, expressing their happiness or frustrations on the course through their attire and emotions.

Girls Inc. empowers girls to understand and navigate their emotions, fostering emotional intelligence, self-esteem, and resilience as integral components of our holistic approach to girl development.

The funds raised during the tournament will directly benefit Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta’s programs and initiatives, which focus on building confidence, developing leadership skills, and promoting STEM education, among other essential life skills for young girls.

“It was wonderful to host the 29th Annual Golf Tournament Fore Girls Inc with the theme ‘emotion’. It was quite invigorating to see the golfers interpretation of different emotions they wanted to represent at the event. We particularly appreciated the Imperial team’s poem on the topic and their take on the complexity of the theme,” said Sundas Shamshad, Interim Executive Director, Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta.
